Abstract
Pregnancy is a critical period that determines a child's quality of life, especially during the First 1,000 Days of Life (HPK). Malnutrition in pregnant women has serious consequences, ranging from low birth weight (LBW) to the risk of permanent stunting. Based on the 2023 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI), the prevalence of stunting in toddlers remains quite high at 21.5%, partly influenced by pregnant women's low understanding of balanced nutrition. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to improve pregnant women's knowledge of balanced nutrition during pregnancy. The activity method is implemented in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The activity was carried out in Pitu Tobelo Tengah Village, North Halmahera Regency, on October 14, 2024, with 30 pregnant women participating. Education was provided through lectures, PowerPoint presentations, leaflets, and discussion sessions. Pretest results showed that only 17% of pregnant women had good knowledge of balanced nutrition. After the education, there was a significant increase, with 80% of pregnant women achieving good knowledge, 10% achieving sufficient knowledge, and 10% achieving insufficient knowledge. This increase demonstrates the effectiveness of nutrition education in increasing the knowledge of pregnant women, which is ultimately expected to encourage the adoption of healthy eating patterns to prevent stunting during pregnancy.
